GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Responsible for developing account relationships within assigned account base to promote, sell and support projects that incorporate SICK’s product lines – Sensors, Safety and Auto Identification. The Sales Manager will be expected to develop direct customer relationships with senior management, project managers, product managers, controls and applications engineers, field service managers, and their sales organization (distributors, integrators, and direct) sufficient to understand ALL aspects of the business. Concentrate on developing business in intralogistics, airports, industrial vehicles, building management, building safety and security, ports, trade and distribution centers, courier, express, parcel and postal service providers, cranes, and the traffic sector. Also required to secure the design specifications as the preferred vendor for specific sensing, safety and auto identification applications. The incumbent will also need to understand key elements of the business: Controls, Field Service, Product Management, and Sales.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS:
Requires BA or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in auto ID and/or safety/sensors sales experience.
Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to research accounts directly with account contacts or indirect resources, e.g. web-sites, annual reports, customer marketing literature, product/service data sheets, catalogs, internal newsletters, integrator/distributor network, competitors, and end-users.
Ability to map the organization and their internal design, product development, marketing, service, and sales processes, and when/how we can interact with each of them.
Ability to apply SICK solutions (product and non-product) and qualify, quantify, and demonstrate Value for such solutions to each key influence at the account.
Ability to develop relationships for obtaining information, feedback to ideas, technical solutions, and commercial proposals.
Ability to make group presentations, develop customized account newsletters or emails, and host professional/social events in order to increase customer awareness and relationships.
Ability to work to a common Sales Process, meeting Account Management objectives, and communicating with other Account Executives and Management with progress.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing an epic customer experience through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and training of SICK products and systems. You will interface with customers both inside and outside the organization offering technical expertise regarding our products and services in a variety of industries.
This position is also responsible for providing product and technical support to the SICK Canada strategic industry teams, distributors, and integrators.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technical support to the SICK direct sales teams, distributors, and customers through telephone conversations and written communication.
Respond, manage, and resolve escalated technical support issues.
Travel to customer sites to evaluate customer applications, and solve technical challenges in collaboration with sales team members.
Use CRM system for all customer and sales process data to ensure proper documentation and retention.
Apply standard diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate root cause analysis, and recommend solutions.
Provide training through various means such as online, classroom, or in the field, for both internal and external users.
Work with sales team to perform analysis of application samples and provide reports to make product recommendations.
Review and submit technical support documents, application solutions, incl BOM, FAQ’s, and other supporting material.
Review and assist with recommendations for product and solution trials and demonstrations.
Assist to create and review training and sales support materials. Collaborate with other team members.
Setup and maintain the FA Lab at SICK Canada.
Assist in the design, management, development, and construction of demonstration equipment to maximize the quality and quantity of product exposure.
Present updates on projects to SICK team members, proactively request input on important decisions.
Provide trade show support as necessary.
Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Post-secondary technical diploma/degree or equivalent work experience
Certification in a technical discipline is preferred (C. Tech., C.E.T.).
0-3 years of experience in industrial automation or business to business technical customer support preferred.
Technical knowledge in industrial bus network communication and data capture systems.
Knowledge in industrial communication methods and diagnostic tools.
Understanding of networking, wireless communication, cloud storage, software coding and cybersecurity.
Other Qualifications:
Written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively interface with individuals both inside and outside the organization from a technical perspective regarding SICK products.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), AutoCAD and internet applications (CRM).

Play a key role in developing and leading projects as assigned.
Collaborate with HR Business Partners and functional leaders throughout SICK globally.

QUALIFICATIONS:
